Rebeca Nuez Suarez is making waves as a young performer of outstanding artistry and exceptional creativity. Part of a new generation of talent broadening the boundaries of the classical music genre, she wrapped 2022 with fresh music video releases and new accolades for her doctoral research at the University of Leeds. Her latest music video, featuring the iconic Chaconne by Johann Sebastian Bach, is a powerful display of technical prowess and musical expression.

Considered by many to be one of the most essential classical music works, this piece is extremely challenging for violinists to perform, due in part to the intricacy of its musical structure and its technical complexity.

Rebeca Nuez Suarez's performance of the Chaconne soars with untamed expressiveness and musical maturity. Infused with a distinct sense of personality, her rendition is as daring and emotional as it is respectful to the piece’s interpretive tradition.

The music video follows Nuez Suarez’s playing in close detail, turning her performance into a gripping and surprisingly intimate experience. The impressive Theatre Royal Brighton, which is one of the oldest and most distinguished theatres in the United Kingdom, provides a striking backdrop for the performance. This video is not only her most recent release, but also part of the PhD project she is currently undertaking at the University of Leeds — a project for which she has been recently awarded a prestigious scholarship by the Fundación Cañada Blanch and the British Spanish Society. She was the only musician and performing artist to win the award in 2022.
