Girard-Perregaux and Saint Laurent Rive Droite have just revealed their joint venture, a fresh take on the legendary Casquette timepiece, available in a limited edition of only 100 pieces. During the 1970s, the Casquette watch enthusiastically embraced novel technologies, innovative materials, and a groundbreaking design. At the time of its debut, it was described with words like "disruptive," "innovative," and "unconventional." The latest iteration of this timepiece remains as practical as ever, while maintaining its avant-garde essence.

The Casquette watch model has always defied traditional norms. In its 1976 debut, it symbolized a departure from the conservative standards of Haute Horlogerie. Girard-Perregaux made a bold choice by equipping the original avant-garde model with a tubular LED display and a quartz movement, perfectly aligning with the watchmaking spirit of the 1970s. Girard-Perregaux has consistently been a pioneer in setting trends and continues to be so to this day.

Anthony Vaccarello made the decision to reintroduce this model, now crafted from black ceramic and black PVD-treated grade 5 titanium. The sleek and lightweight case elegantly curves around the wrist, providing exceptional comfort. Additionally, the watch features a chronograph function and the ability to display time in a different time zone.

The Saint-Laurent 01 Casquette 2.0 will be exclusively obtainable at Saint Laurent Rive Droite stores located in Paris and Los Angeles, as well as online through the official Saint Laurent Rive Droite store, but only in specific countries. The retail price for this limited edition watch will be $6,700 USD.
