Shannon L. Clark learned early on that he wanted to help real people–not insurance companies or businesses. As a Phoenix personal injury attorney, he has worked on all manner of cases in several states–from product liability to motor vehicle accidents to premises liability and even medical cases. As the co-chair of Gallagher & Kennedy’s Plaintiffs Personal Injury and Wrongful Death group, Clark has experience trying, litigating, and resolving cases involving motor vehicle crashes, aviation disasters, defective products, and professional negligence.
“Plaintiff PI lawyers get a bad reputation, probably due to the proliferation of billboard advertisers,” Clark says. “I try to help people understand that I do the work I do because I am proud to be able to help people.”
Clark graduated from Cornell University with distinction in 1996 and Duke University with honors in 1999. The same year, he was admitted to the Arizona Bar and U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, and was admitted to the U.S. District Court in the District of Arizona in 2001. He also served as an Adjunct Professor at the Phoenix School of Law and Arizona Summit Law School (2012-2015).
What Sets Shannon L. Clark Apart
Clark says that at Gallagher & Kennedy, he and his team practice at the highest possible level, treating every case “like it’s the case of the century” and preparing for each “as if the case will go to trial.”
“We stand by our clients and are not afraid to try hard cases,” he says.
Clark has been honored twice by Best Lawyers as a Lawyer of the Year for Product Liability and recognized four times by Super Lawyers as one of Arizona’s Top 50 Lawyers. However, he is most proud of his work on four product liability cases, in which his team’s work has led directly to products being recalled or made safer.
Philanthropic Pursuits
Though Clark’s passion for justice and dedication to helping defend injured or wronged individuals has carried him throughout his legal career, he also engages in philanthropy. He has worked on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired (2005-2011, 2013-2020) and was a Founding Member of the Valley of the Sun United Way Bench and Bar Donor Circle, which helps give back to the community by focusing on issues surrounding education, housing and homelessness, health, and homeplace development.
