After Spanish techno princess and fashion icon Sita Abellán debuted her OUTOPIA party in Barcelona this June, she left the city’s rave lovers craving another—and she didn’t disappoint. Sita returned with a second edition of her residency at Barcelona’s infamous INPUT Dance Club on November 5, and it was even flashier than the last.
A haven for techno and rave music, OUTOPIA is designed as an inclusive space hosting female-only lineups. For its second edition, Sita enlisted a stacked lineup of producers and DJs to throw down hard techno and trance, while creating a positive atmosphere of love and respect for everyone there.
Headlined by Sita, the second edition of OUTOPIA featured Cora Novoa, a Spanish producer/DJ on Tiga’s Turbo Recordings label and the Founder/Director of SEEKING THE VELVET, an independent record label of electronic and experimental-pop music. Barcelona based hardstyle/trance DJ Drazzit was a perfect match for OUTOPIA as well, being the co-founder and resident of MUSA, an emerging queer platform from Barcelona that aims to give visibility mainly to LGBTQ+ and female artists. Also on the lineup was hard techno producer/DJ Lee Ann Roberts, the South African-born, Amsterdam-based who has played Secret Solstice in Iceland, to BPM Festival, and more.
The party drew in queer and nightlife icons such as Dovima Nurmi, Venus Plastik, Serpiente, and Victoria Banks, among others. With Sita’s global reputation as not only a designer, model and DJ, but also a supporter of femme and LGBTQ+ culture, she’s created an experience in OUTOPIA that can only grow bigger and better. More dates will follow in 2023, and our eyes will be on them.
