Tanner Fletcher took New York Fashion Week to the dance with their latest collection, “Spring Fling.” Models were seen getting ready and playfully gossiping on the phone before dancing the night away in a series of retro-inspired vignettes designed by the Brooklyn-based duo Tanner Richie and Fletcher Kasell. It’s a spring fling that seeks to overturn the gender, age, sexuality and race biases that have traditionally dictated the experience of attending a school dance at a U.S high school. Adorned in sequins and the brand’s signature ivory, creams and browns, the gender-neutral designs are a quintessential example of TF’s retro meets modern aesthetic.
Taking inspiration from vintage fabrics and interiors, the materials used in this collection incorporate everything from bed sheets to interior wood paneling to channel an air of nostalgia for both the designer and the viewer. The collection consists of 30 looks with over a hundred different garments as well as accessories ranging from handbags to deadstock jewelry from the 60s.
