The Whitney Museum of American Art hosted its annual fundraising event, Art Party, on January 31st, in New York City, hosted by co-chairs Ashley Graham, Karen Elson, Rebecca Hall, Morgan Spector, Rachel Rossin, Edward Barsamian, Steven Beltrani, and Micaela Erlanger. Sponsored by NILI LOTAN and RéVive and with tequila provided by Tequila Casa Dragones, this cornerstone event of New York’s arts and philanthropy calendar welcomed emerging artists, patrons, and guests from the worlds of art, fashion, business, philanthropy, and entertainment for an evening of cocktails, music, exclusive exhibition viewing, and more. The fundraising event, which provides critical support to the Whitney’s renowned Independent Study Program (ISP), was back after a two year hiatus with a zodiac inspired theme, with astrologer Francesca Vuillemin giving personalized readings to guests.

Guests gathered on the Museum’s ground floor in the Kenneth C. Griffin Hall for cocktails, dancing, and DJ sets by Questlove and The Muses . Co-chair and featured artists Rachel Rossin designed exclusive merchandise for sale inspired by her virtual reality artworks. Artist Devin Kenny also designed limited edition temporary tattoos for guests at the event. Guests also enjoyed exclusive access to some of the museum’s exhibits, Edward Hopper's New York and no existe un mundo poshuracán: Puerto Rican Art in the Wake of Hurricane Maria, as well as the photography installation of Every Ocean Hughes: Alive Side and the Museum’s collection galleries. The Whitney Museum’s core mission is to collect, preserve, interpret, and exhibit American Art, and celebrate its’ complexity and diversity in American Art Culture. The Whitney’s commitment to art and artists has made it a powerful force in art, and continues to help define what is innovative and influential in American art today.
