Zegna arrives at Milan Fashion Week with The Oasi of Cashmere for Winter 2023, a collection of skillfully designed garments which include: cropped bomber jackets, polo shirts, cardigans, elongated coats, blazers that exclude lapels and collars, full trousers, and sack-inspired jackets. Adequate fits are created with 3D jacquards, while geometric patterns are stroked onto puffed-up-outerwear. The sizable textures add dimension to the Oasi Cashmere fabric which consist of double-faced jacquard meltons, felts, jerseys, and coated and uncoated bouclè. This collection also utilizes #UseTheExistingTM sources to create a granite effect made out of alpaca, cotton-blend corduroy, and tactile wool twill. Elements of certain outfits feature The Elder Statesman, an ‘off kilter' LA-based luxury lifestyle brand that Zegna plans to partner with at the end of February during Paris Fashion Week. Guests of the Winter 2023 Fashion Show were invited to witness different parts of production that go into making the fabric of the collection with the “Oasis Cashmere Room” which included fibers floating and falling in an air chamber-an imperative step in the Oasi Cashmere collection.
Zegna believes that innovative clothes-making starts with the consideration of fibers: how fibers are harvested, woven and how they will eventually impact the fabrics they create. Zegna’s vertically integrated business structure allows the brand to oversee multiple steps in the production process, ensuring extra care is given at each level of creation. The development of Oasi Cashmere is a key aspect of Zegna’s Road to Traceability, a commitment to having all fibers used in their clothing fully traceable by 2024. Zegna is committed to both sustainability and Italian craftsmanship, by working with directly-owned mills such as Bonotto, Dondi, Lanificio Zegna, Filati Biagioli Modesto, and Tessitura Ubertino, the company can ensure their position as a leading name in the creation of fine fabrics.
