The renowned Italian menswear brand has introduced a novel concept in luxury fashion experiences: a traveling showcase named VILLA ZEGNA. This innovative project draws its inspiration from the original residence of ZEGNA’s namesake, Ermenegildo Zegna. VILLA ZEGNA is not bound to a single location but instead journeys to key markets worldwide. It offers an immersive, multisensory adventure that goes beyond traditional fashion presentations. The concept creates an intimate setting where influential figures, celebrities and tastemakers can engage with the brand through curated dinners and exclusive fashion viewings. VILLA ZEGNA debuted in Shanghai earlier this year but has most recently taken up residence in New York City’s Salon 94.
To honor ZEGNA’s long standing American ties, the brand premiered a short film starring Roman Coppola. Director and writer Boramy Vuguier follows Coppola as he retraces the footsteps of the brand’s founder, exploring the salons of the historic Zegna family villa to the surrounding mountainscape of Oasi Zegna, a haven of nature nestled in the Italian Alps. Later in the film, Coppola’s role takes a personal slant, as he reflects on his own heritage and how the decisions we make in our lifetime impact and inspire generations to come.
Celebrities including actors John Turturro, Ethan Hawke and Chloe Fineman attended the film's premiere at VILLA ZEGNA, in addition to director Sofia Coppola and singer The Dare. During the brand’s residency in New York, ZEGNA also honored the release of its Fall-Winter 2024 campaign featuring actors Mads Mikkelsen and Wu Lei.
The collection, much like the film featuring Coppola, transports wearers to the Alps, highlighting the comfort and sophistication of the Oasi Cashmere line. Artistic director Alessandro Sartori pays special tribute to pieces like the Il Conte jacket and the Triple Stitch Monte shoe — reflecting ZEGNA's ideal of luxury as leisure. Meaning ‘Count’ in Italian, the Il Conte jacket symbolizes ZEGNA’s legacy, paying homage to Ermenegildo Zegna who was bestowed the title "Count of Monte Rubello" for his legacy as an entrepreneur. Coppola wears the same jacket as he explores the Italian countryside in the short film.
The introduction of VILLA ZEGNA and its accompanying short film serve as thoughtfully designed extensions of the brand, reinforcing ZEGNA's commitment to blending luxury with heritage.
