According to Kim Jones, Artistic Director of FENDI Couture and Womenswear, the FENDI’s Fall/Winter 2023 Couture Collection is all about jewelry– even if there is none present on the body. The collection draws inspiration from the fluidity and structures of adornment– garments take on the compositions of stones. The collection plays with shading: fleshy tones and black diamonds, rubies, and sapphires gently smock the body and compliment the wearer. Through rigorous pattern cutting (some garments realized with only singular seams) and flexible stitching, the collection takes aim at the subtleties of the skin, while intertwining the spectacle of looking with the reality of wearing.

Delfina Delettrez Fendi, the Artistic Director of Jewelry for FENDI, plays a significant role in the collection. In this debut proposition of one-off pieces, the idea of the couture ensemble is extended to that of jewelry. At once timeless and modern, the collection features a unique color palette of white and yellow diamonds coupled with green, orange, and pink Padparadscha sapphires and spinels. The collection of pink spinels, featured in the 'Undarum' set, took forty years to gather, and will likely never be replicated in nature again.

Among the esteemed guests in attendance were actresses Naomi Watts and Zoe Saldana, Eiza Gonzalez and Lily James. Also in attendance were music idols Cardi B and Shakira.
