Givenchy Catwalk, the French-house’s first extensive catalog of its haute couture and ready-to-wear collections, is an eponymous coffee table book showcasing the history of the Givenchy's collections from 1952 to the present day. Through the original catwalk imagery, readers can flip through the 1200-photograph book, with a concise chronological timeline, serving as the first and only monograph in print at the house of Givenchy. Since its start by founder Hubert De Givenchy in 1952, the house would go on to solidify its legacy as being the pinnacle of effortless elegance, as notoriously embodied by Givenchy’s personal friend and muse, Audrey Hepburn.

With many of Givenchy’s collections published in this book for the first time, fashion enthusiasts can reminisce on the fascinating and iconic archive. After the founders retirement in 1995, John Galliano stepped in – before being succeeded by Alexander Mcqueen, who created his very first haute couture collections for the house. In 2001, Julien Macdonald brought his avant-garde glam to the label. In recent years, Riccardo Tisci took the reins, and the brand itself into a contemporary rebirth in 2005 after being appointed by Clare Waight Keller and Matthew M. Williams. With a very rich reference section, a highly-detailed index and the opportunity to trace the history of the house, readers will find nothing short of a satisfying and enthralling read.

As Matthew M. Williams is ushering Givenchy into a new era, while simultaneously celebrating its 70 years of existence and legacy, he states, “To me, fashion expresses a point of view where formality and informality, construction and comfort co-exist. My ethos is about the luxury of infusing clothes with your own personality, not being worn by them.” The hardcover, cloth-bound book is now available for purchase.
