Salehe Bembury, NYC-born footwear designer who has served as the Senior director of sneakers and footwear at Versace and designed for Yeezy, has collaborated with preeminent luxury brand Moncler on a new outdoor collection, Moncler ēquipements. Inspired by an archive Moncler mountaineering line from the late 1950’s, the collection re-articulates the brand’s original DNA with a distinct ergonomic Bembery touch. 

Of the collection, Bembury shares, “This campaign is a dialogue about humanizing luxury. My goal is to harmoniously balance Moncler DNA with the heritage of the outdoors. This collection embodies a juxtaposition of ethos rarely seen in either environment.” Indeed, the entirety of the collection– from the nature-inspired palette to the utilitarian silhouettes– mediates humanity and nature.

An avid hiker who has spent extensive amounts of time in the wilderness, Salehe Bembury has infused the collection with his own appreciation of the natural spirit: witnessed in functional pieces like the GORE-TEX INFINIUM™ parka, and the Trailgrip Grain sneaker, the collection promises a longevity in and out of the natural world.

The partnership between the two marks a groundbreaking move for Salehe Bembury, as the collection will be the designer’s debut ready-to-wear collection. Moncler Genius x Salehe Bembury touches down in selected Moncler stores and on moncler.com from July 14th.
