Hailing from California, Natasha Jane Julian’s brand of thoughtful, dreamy, trip-hop-inspired anthems feel like they might well be the soundtrack to your most profound emotional states. As she gears up to release her latest single ‘Take Me To Paradise,’ here’s a quick overview of who she is and why you should get familiar with her

Natasha Jane Julian is gearing up to share her latest single ‘Take Me to Paradise’ with the world, meaning there’s no better time for audiences to get reacquainted with this beguiling artist.

Hailing from California, Natasha Jane Julian has spent most of her entire life pinning down a unique visual and musical aesthetic. Her work often draws comparisons to the likes of Lana Del Rey and Kate Bush - by ways of Coldplay and Massive Attack - but these comparisons perhaps fail to convey just how much of an original she is. Most of the time, critics and fans put her in her category.

What first draws you to Natasha Jane Julian’s music is her deeply provocative lyrics, which waste no time on minor matters and aim squarely at the listener’s heart and soul. She has said that she values “substance and sophistication” in her songwriting, meaning that her lyrics carry much weight.

Natasha’s voice serves as an equally powerful vehicle for delivering these weighty, profound lyrics. Her voice is, by turns, sultry yet clinical, wistful yet haunting. It’s the kind of singing voice you’d happily have playing in your ear as you stare out of a car window contemplating your life - meaning that it makes you feel like you’re in a movie, and Natasha is your ideal soundtrack companion.

As a recording artist, Natasha has wildly succeeded in the past few years. She started sharing her music on streaming platforms back in 2018. Still, her career took a decisive upward trajectory following the release of her Angel EP back in 2019, which she recorded in collaboration with Grammy award-winning producer Dom Morley.

Following this EP release, Natasha began sharing music in earnest. Her cover of Lana Del Rey’s ‘Summertime Sadness’ proved that she could match Lana’s gut-punching, sensual energy, while singles like ‘Just Breathe’ and ‘I’ll Be Your Goddess’ showed the consistency in her artistry.

Natasha is gearing up to release her full-length album Beauty That Lies. According to the artist herself, the album has been three years in the making. There is a lot of anticipation about this release, mainly because the first single from the album, ‘Pink Roses,’ went down such a storm with Natasha’s ever-growing fanbase.

This first single was followed by the infectious reggae-inspired pop anthem ‘Singing in the Rain,’ and her latest release ‘Devil Eyes,’ which has shot to 60,000 streams in a few short weeks.

Natasha’s fourth single from the album, ‘Take Me To Paradise,’ is easily her most ambitious song yet. ‘TMTP’ is a yearning, trip-hop-inspired anthem, which is robust in its production, heartfelt in its lyrics, and as powerful as ever in terms of the vocals.

The anticipation for Natasha Jane Julian’s first significant body of work is at a fever pitch - get to know her now before she goes meteoric.
