Prada has emerged as a trailblazer in recent years, taking steps towards sustainability. The leading fashion house has embraced a mindful approach, prioritizing the planet and actively reducing their carbon footprint. Initiatives such as energy-efficient stores and the use of recycled nylon fabrics exemplify their ever evolving commitment. Continually seeking progress, Prada Group seized the opportunity to participate in the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission's Member States Assembly in Paris, held from June 21 to June 30, 2023.

Prada Group made an announcement with IOC/UNESCO,  unveiling their enhanced partnership as part of Sea Beyond. This transformative educational initiative has been dedicated to fostering ocean literacy principles and safeguarding the oceans since 2019.  The backbone of this collaborative effort is a mutual value of living in harmony with the ocean and fostering ocean literacy.

As part of their partnership, Prada announces their charitable commitment to make an ongoing donation of 1% of Prada Re-Nylon collection. The revenues from this collection will be used to further sustain and develop the Sea Beyond project and a two-year new program on ocean literacy is presented.  With increased resources and a shared vision, the program expands beyond education to include scientific research and humanitarian projects.

The collaboration welcomes a new Ocean Decade Coordination Office. Opening in Venice, Italy the Ocean Decade Coordination Office will be located within the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Science & Culture in Europe, where the IOC Project Office on Ocean Literacy is also based.
