The Broad in Downtown Los Angeles, known for esteemed rotating exhibitions, has announced exciting additions to its executive staff team. Introduced by Founding Director and President of The Broad Museum, Joanne Heyler, are two new hires – Eva Seta as the new Director of Marketing and Communications and Elyse Mallouk as their first-ever Chief Strategy Officer, Audience and Community (CSO). Both Seta and Mallouk have made waves within their industries, which they will carry through to their new positions.

With their strong backgrounds in communications, brand identity, and marketing, the two will work together to further strengthen the museum's public outreach and mission to make contemporary art accessible to a wider audience. Mallouk formerly held the VP of Brand Strategy position at Kickstarter for five years; prior she had a curatorial background in digital content at the Whitney Museum in New York. Joanne Heyler speaks on Mallouk’s position, which will allow her to combine her skills in brand strategy with her knowledge of contemporary art. “Elyse is passionate about The Broad’s commitment to reaching a wide audience, and she will build on our innovations through her oversight of The Broad’s teams in Marketing and Communications, Visitor Experience, Audience Engagement, sponsorships and more. Her thoughtful strategic planning will crystallize The Broad’s profile and deepen its engagement with communities in Los Angeles and around the world,” says Heyler. “She will ensure that The Broad continues to be a leader in connecting a wide, diverse and growing audience to art.”

Eva Seta is similarly versed in this realm with a strong familiarity with the Los Angeles community and art scene. She has a local background, having spent a decade with DTLA neighbor, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Los Angeles, where she worked as their Director of Communications. She was the mastermind behind managing the promotion of many successful exhibitions, events, and programs. Her position as Director of Marketing and Communications at The Broad starts officially on August 14, 2023.

With the addition of Eva Seta and Elyse Mallouk to its executive staff team, The Broad Museum in Downtown Los Angeles embarks on an exciting new chapter. Under Joanne Heyler's guidance, the museum will continue to solidify its position as a leader in the art world, fostering deeper engagement with communities both locally and globally. As these dynamic professionals take on their roles, The Broad's continued commitment to innovation and inclusivity promises to enrich the cultural landscape and bring joy through art to all.

On view through October 8, 2023 at The Broad is a special exhibition Keith Haring: Art Is for Everybody. The Broad is proudly the first ever museum exhibition in Los Angeles to present Haring’s expansive body of work.
