Thom Browne explores the intersection of art, fashion design, and storytelling with the debut of their new collaboration with Frette at Milan’s Salone del Mobile in the historic Neoclassical Palazzina Appiani. The brand’s first installation at the Salone, aptly titled …TIME TO SLEEP…, subverted all expectations, sparking dialogue surrounding the role of dress in both the private and public spheres of life.
As part of today’s performance, six models entered the venue wearing matching tank tops and shorts. They appeared ready for bed as they approached the midcentury cots – made up in custom cotton sateen Thom Browne by Frette bedding – lined up in the center of the hall. Instead of slipping under the covers, though, they then dressed themselves in Browne’s signature reinterpretation of the midcentury office uniform. Only once they were done up in their gray suits did they tuck themselves into bed, ready to pursue the job of their dreams.
The performance celebrates the latest expansion of Thom Browne’s home collection made in collaboration with the master craftspeople at Frette. The new collection includes bedding, bath linens, robes, and towels made in the finest heritage textiles and with the utmost attention to detail. The pieces are now available to purchase online and at Thom Browne stores worldwide.
