William Eggleston’s The Outlands, on view at David Zwirner, coinciding with the publication of William Eggleston: The Outlands, Selected Works, presents a selection of photographs, most of which have never been seen by the public. Taken between 1970 and 1973, these photographs come from the same project that were included in Eggleston’s famed 1976 exhibition at The Museum of Modern Art, New York.

The Outlands, Eggleston's fifth solo exhibition with the gallery, is emblematic of the broader themes and iconography in his work—roadside scenes, signage, isolated cars, and expansive landscapes. The Outlands closes this Saturday, December 17 at David Zwirner's 525 and 533 West 19th Street locations.
