Straight off the momentum of her standout feature on TDE artist REASON’s “Slow Down,” the rising star now finds her own footing as a vocalist and recording artist. Bringing that feel-good, nostalgic R&B energy and mixing it with modern-day production, the singer-songwriter unleashes her debut single titled “Wish You The Worst.” While ALEMEDA grew up in a strong religious household, she’s been performing and entertaining damn near her whole life. Splitting her time between Ethiopia and Arizona, ALEMEDA was always thriving in local talent shows and recording covers of her favorite songs on her phone. Being a first-generation American isn’t always easy, but music proves to be her outlet to speak her truth and wear her heart on her sleeve. Speaking on the single, ALEMEDA states, “I want to let people know it’s okay to express whatever you’re feeling, even if it’s anger or being petty. If you feel that, then it’s real.” “Wish You The Worst” is produced by Mike Hector, inspired directly by a toxic relationship that left her bitter. She reveals that no matter what, he “wished her the best” which was completely fabricated. At the end of the day, she wants listeners to know it’s okay to be angry and feel your true honest emotions.
