Tomorrow, December 11th, Alexander McQueen’s Sarabande Foundation will explore the connection between technology and creativity and partake in the on going discussion of ethics in technology with their presentation of Ai-Da, the world’s first ultra-realistic humanoid AI robot artist. The public will watch Ai-Da as she draws subjects from sight using a pencil in her left hand and the cameras in her eyes in real time. Based on Professor Margaret Boden’s philosophical definition of creativity, Ai-Da produces art that is novel, surprising, and of societal value.
