The stylish and genuine [Betsy](https://www.instagram.com/betsy/?hl=en) has already lived many lives, from growing up on a goose farm in rural Wales to landing in one of the biggest fashion houses, landing an internship with Balenciaga after her mother encouraged her to find a “backup plan”. Adding pop singer to her repertoire, the Welsh singer-songwriter released her second EP of four songs titled _Sugar Daddy_ on June 4.
Three other singles, “Behind Her Smile”, “True Romance” and “Don’t You Stop”, accompany the lead track. While each song is vulnerable and intimate, each track leaves traces of their own truth and displays Betsy’s world as she knows it. In hopes of addressing the themes of relationships, suicidal thoughts, and loneliness, Betsy doesn't steer away from including her current boyfriend and personal experiences as her genius.
The singer describes her project as a diary into her current life, “moments of colour, lust and love that forever hang on a thin thread of drama and destruction."
The project displays Betsy to her core, granting her the ability to expand and create her own rich sound with each note. With musical inspiration stemming from Carole King and Lykke Li to Chance the Rapper and Tobias Jesso Jr., Betsy's voice is raw as well as full of heart and promise.
Within the past year and a half, Betsy chronicled her newest adventure, renovating a massive 10-bedroom Portuguese villa through a collection of polaroids and film. Her photo diary encapsulates the essence of _Sugar Daddy_ without knowing—honest, whimsical and full of one-of-a-kind character.
The lens captures Betsy in her new home, in creative meetings, adorned with flowers and a woman in love. Much like her EP, each photo tells a story. Each caption written to its purest form, yet holding so many memories. The artist encourages the will to live life, whether it’s through the mundane or through her newest pop music.
