[Blacktag](https://blacktag.com), the brainchild of Akin Adebowale and Ousman Sahko, hosted an intimated dinner at 99 Scott in Bushwish, Brooklyn in celebration of their upcoming launch this September. The night began with a delicious meal prepared by [Malikah Shavonne](https://mailtrack.io/trace/link/f036c2eeca8fe8224696c79b0adf6b68f229f0cb?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.instagram.com%2Fmalikahshavonne%2F%3Fhl%3Den&userId=4556283&signature=d5df738bd3ce5cdb) and cocktails provided by [HH Bespoke Spirit](https://mailtrack.io/trace/link/5980c42513403292ac590694ab84ec79ffff25a0?url=https%3A%2F%2Fhhbespokespirits.com%2F&userId=4556283&signature=13da49aca4fc59ac).
The NEA and CAA approved platform was created for Black content and creators. As a 24-hour interactive content channel and creator platform, Blacktag hopes to uplift the community in the form of redirecting ad-spend to Black Creatives. The platform is dedicated to mending the gap between brands and Black creators by providing the space and environment to connect directly. Blacktag also released an original film last February entitled, “Black Art is Black Money,” and a number of original series are also in the works, partnering with Issa Rae and Common.
With the community in mind, Blacktag states that after “seeing the imbalance of Black creative power and economic equity saying, Akin and Ousman made it their mission to solve many of the problems Black culture and talent face with one unified platform.”
