Chaz Cardigan injects emotion and feeling into his music, priding himself in the quality of his lyrics. When it comes to songwriting, the Nashville-based recording artist continually attempts to untangle our most complex feelings as human beings. A product of the millennial post-genre landscape, Chaz is influenced by a wide array of genres, from Queen to Kanye West to Bjork to David Bowie.

Now, Flaunt exclusively premieres his new single titled “Everything’s Wrong,” which speaks volumes to the current state of the world. The message: a bad day is never the end of the story.

Speaking exclusively on the album, Chaz states, “There’s a lot of liberation in those moments when you’re low and everything’s falling apart, because things can only get better from there.  There’s another peak coming. Yeah the mountain can be tall and rough to climb, but you get some great insight when you’re down in the valleys and looking up.  You learn what not to do again.”

Like many things that come with life, it’s all about contrast. Chaz enjoys the idea of writing an optimistic song with a title like “Everything’s Wrong,” drawing attention in the most organic way. Serving as the first track he wrote after wrapping his Vulnerabilia EP, Chaz went through several iterations before landing on the final version he worked on alongside Julian Dente and Simon Oscroft. The thing that kept drawing him back was how freeing the song was, which he hopes to convey to the masses.

Things will be better, even if everything’s falling apart in real time.
