From a pool of more than 4,000 candidates, a total of 35 projects, representing 41 individual artists have received $100,000 to fund their artistically groundbreaking endeavors.  Of this year’s projects, 76% are people of color, 54% identify as women, and 12% as trans or gender non-binary.  The awardees “Though these artists come to us from very different backgrounds, work in different fields, and explore a wide range of subjects, they share a dedication to pushing boundaries, both ours and their own,” said Suzy Delvalle, Creative Capital’s President & Executive Director. “We are thrilled to be supporting them and their work, and cannot wait to see these projects grow and mature to fruition.”  Since its conception in 1999, Creative Capitals has funded over 741 artists’ visions, nurturing development of sustainable careers in the arts realm. [Creative Capital](https://creative-capital.org) creates an effective avenue that encourages artists and creators to pursue their dreams, while providing them with the tools and confidence to do so. In a time where emerging cultures and independents are seeking representation and the marginalized are encouraged to speak up for the disadvantages faced on a collective level more than ever before, it is vital to have a community that can empower, learn and support one another.
