For her Dior Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2022 collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri questions notions of work and savoir-faire by spotlighting her creative dialogue with India. To do so, she enlists celebrated Indian artists Madhvi and Manu Parekh, whose art complicates tradition and spirituality. The runway features their artwork, which enters into dialogue with the Chanakya ateliers’ embroidery techniques featured on the clothing. Together, they create a conversation between the languages of art and craft, ultimately disrupting the boundaries between the two.
Below, Dior shares a behind-the-scenes look into the making of the set.
