LA-based, R&B singer Doja Cat sold out the Echoplex on Friday night. This summer, she created quite the buzz on the internet following the release of her song, “Mooo!” Going viral across social media platforms, the song racked up over 22 million views on YouTube and was unsurprisingly memed à la the #moochallenge, which is admittedly hard to define. All things considered, it’s no surprise her quirky and sarcastic humor has set her apart; the song’s music video features a cowsuit-clad Doja Cat dancing in front of bouncing anime breasts and 8-bit cheeseburgers. Dozens of fans are dressed as cows. The audience, a hoard of cattle. The song’s catchy melody is entwined with nostalgia and humor. She references the classics like “Milkshake” by Kelis and the iconic “Old McDonald Had a Farm.” Doja’s comical attitude makes it obvious she doesn’t take herself too seriously.
