House Lives Matter | 2020 Ballroom Calendar
Photographed by Sammy Rawal ![Photographed by Sammy Rawal](https://assets-global.website-files.com/62ee0bbe0c783a903ecc0ddb/6472bb84b85a752a30606675_HLM2020Calendar.png) Photographed by [Sammy Rawal](https://instagram.com/sammyrawal) House Lives Matter is blessing the return of the roaring 20s with their House Ballroom Calendar, directed and shot by [Sammy Rawal](https://instagram.com/sammyrawal).  HLM is a community organizing initiative deeply committed to the empowerment, visibility, and creativity of the marginalized within the House Ball Community.  “Visibility & Diversity within House Ball Community leaves a legacy for generations to come to know that all are created equal.  We learned that through House Ball competitions.  We may make mistakes, but we are not mistakes,” says [Iconic Pioneer Junior Lebeija.](https://instagram.com/iamleggoh/)     The calendar explores twelve themes that praise the Ballroom scene for the first time, celebrating sexual and gender minority people of color. 100% of the proceeds will be donated back to HLM to directly benefit the community.  By providing representation the HLM sparks, participates, and inspires more conversations to share untold their narratives and continue a movement based on creativity and inclusion.    [Icon Gorgeous Jack Mizrahi Gucci](https://instagram.com/jackmizrahi), who co-casted and produced the calendar, says, “I wanted to get involved in the calendar as I see it as a way to continue to push the narrative around ballroom culture- to move things on.  Programs such as _Paris is Burning_ and ‘Pose’ have brought our culture to the mainstream, it is vital that we as a community own that narrative, create ways to celebrate our creativity and open up dialogue and for $25 who wouldn’t want me on their wall!” With a limited run of 1,000 copies, the calendars can be purchased on the [HLM website.](https://www.houselivesmatter.org/hlmcalendar)
