Sofia Bryant is the American-Finnish actor who’s making waves with her role as the confident Dina in Jonathan Entwistle’s _I Am Not Okay With This_, a coming-of-age story from Netflix, which follows fifteen-year-old Sydney through the intricacies of high school, including bullies and P.E., all while discovering that she has a unique set of telekinetic superpowers. Dina and Syd’s relationship is one of affection, but also of unrequited love, a constant tug of war. Bryant’s portrayal highlights the trials and tribulations of adolescence and identity which make _I Am Not Okay With This_ a necessary watch for those growing up and finding their way.
**Who do you think _I Am Not Okay With This_ is intended for and what are these person’s hopes and dreams?**
This is a show for anyone because we cover so many different topics and we speak on so many different things. Everyone is going to be able to resonate with if not one, multiple or all characters.
**Describe working with the director Jonathan Entwistle and collaborating with each other.**
He is awesome. What I really love about Jonathan is that he gave us so much freedom and room to play. At the end of the day, it really is a team effort and he let us know that you were free to make choices. It helped overall because the environment was always very safe to try new things.
**You guys probably developed a trust with each other.**
Like a family!
**What have your own coming of age stories taught you?**
I don’t think mine is really over yet, and I feel there’s no time where it ends. Everyone is always growing, you’re always learning new things, you’re always feeling different. You know you’re always changing your opinions and viewpoints on life. So I think I’m very much still in that period of time, and that recently, I’ve learned to be more comfortable with myself.

**What kind of advice would you have for young adults that are discovering themselves?**
I think what scares people the most is when they’re in a situation they don’t want to be in or they feel uncomfortable in, they feel like nothing is ever going to change. The best advice I could give to myself, my younger self, is that everything is always changing. You’re always in control of your own life and if you feel like you want to tweak something, you can do that. There’s nothing stopping you from doing that.
**On a personal level, what motivates you?**
Allowing myself to have goals, but not, you know, set out every single thing and plan out my exact way of getting there. I have so much room to grow. It really allows me to be a person and explore and live in this world and get to try everything it has to offer.
**Filming can be a super arduous process and take a toll. Other than acting, what kind of passions do you have, and what do you do to unwind?**
I love music, I listen to literally every single type of music. And walking with music versus listening to music in a car—100% walking to music for me.
