Last month, [Jakett New York](https://www.jakett.com) hosted a pop up shopping party that revolved around their collaborative leather jackets customized by Samantha Urbani. Guests, which included icons like Devyn Crimson, Georgia Jagger, and Alix Brown enjoyed cocktails and music at the Soho Grand Hotel while they explored the Jakett New York Fall 2019 range.

Artist and musician, Samantha Urbani, grew up primarily as a visual artist. With her DIY philosophy she is drawn to versatile pieces that balance both bold and minimal. Her wedding jackets made for friends Zoe Kravitz and Karl Gusman were the things of viral gold, as was her own jacket which was the center piece of her last single “Made in Love“ For her collaboration, Urbani used her painting prowess to create custom leather jackets. Whether “NYC” stenciled in gold, or a black and white wavy striped jacket with the planet earth featured on the back, this ongoing collab is sure to whet the appetite of the Downtown set and beyond.

Im a nerd 4 how/why music is made, so I like 2 share. 💌 I think a lot about love as a space, rather than a feeling- a protected bubble, like a terrarium w its own ecosystem. Its a place 2 be radically honest, empathetic, selfless- 2 feel safe in, &recharge ur batteries w trust &surrender. With this thought, theres a question of whether u can be IN love WITH some1- actually inside it- if theyre not there w/ u. Also whether that space exists regardless of the state of love- romance, friendship, separation. If a connection is made in love, let it remain in love. No matter what, honor the space. U feel? The song was written in a process of healing. My genius BFF @sashadesree stayed w me in LA after my close friend/collaborator Sam Mehran died in summer 2018. I was completely obliterated by this loss &couldnt function. I asked Sasha 2help me get some words &melodies out- I felt creatively blocked &even ~triggered~ by music in general. He obliged w so much care &patience. This is the song we started that day. 6 months later I moved back 2 NYC, &met w Nick Weiss, also a close friend/collaborator of Sams, 2 go thru Sams hard drives w him. Nick asked 2 hear what Id been working on- I said I was on a break from music after the major losses I associated w it, but knew it was time 2 get back 2 it. He was so supportive, funny, &sweet- we decided 2 make an album together, &4 Made In Love 2 be the 1st track we'd work on. We had some AMAZING friends join in- as credited above. Their contributions were so essential, &the process of building it all in2 something so solid was VERY healing 4me. We then sent it 2 mixer James Krausse- whose work me &Nick stan heavily (Beyoncé, Ariana, &my fav radio hit, Jealous by Nick Jonas 🔥🤘 +lot of cool indie stuff) @jack.mannix came on 2release it &has been the most supportive angel possible. I ♥️ this song Thx 4 listening 🤘😌
