American culture has many unique quirks, from hamburgers, to loud music, to unrivaled patriotism. However, it is less accepting of other topics, one being sex work. With many Americans retaining a conservative mindset, bringing sex and sexual services to light has been a decades-long struggle for many in the industry. The rise of adult-content on platforms such as OnlyFans has aided this battle, but creators like Kazumi are truly charging the front lines.
Kazumi is a young, driven individual who has taken it upon herself to change the taboo perspective on sex work that many people still have. As an adult content creator by trade, Kazumi knows all too well how difficult it is to be respected and deemed valid by society.
At the heart of Kazumi’s message for change is her passion for opening the eyes of the world to see that sex is not taboo! While some may see this as grotesque, the meaning behind it is everything but that. Kazumi wisely tells us that “as times change, and people realize that all occupations are valid, we’ve been undergoing this sexual revolution within ourselves.” This sexual revolution has been brewing since the late 1960s, when women became more socially present and eccentric about themselves and their bodies. Following this trend, Kazumi wishes to “recalibrate people’s ideas about sex and the people that love to have it.” Protecting the validity of sex in everyday conversation and media is essential to Kazumi’s goal of breaking the taboo nature of sex in the modern age. She strongly argues that “sex isn’t a bad thing, and it doesn’t need to be hidden or inversely exploited to prove a point.” Sadly, society hasn’t yet taken kindly to her message.
Starting out, Kazumi found it troublesome to find an audience. With no social presence whatsoever, it was like jumping into the ocean and looking around for driftwood. Her only experience was that of a fry cook and marketing executive, so finding her way in the world of adult content creating was no easy feat. A few years later, she began to gain traction with her audience, but her internal struggles remained. She asks “why should I be taken less seriously, what makes me gross? Why does my humanity need to be rationalized? I’m in the same room as most of [society], [and] I make just as much and have just as much, if not more, influence over my peers over decisions and ideas.” This internal frustration weighed heavily on her, as it is truly disheartening to have your craft gain only disapproval from the masses. Kazumi explains that “once people find out what my assets are, they usually turn me away from opportunities and want to silence my movement.” She almost pities them, though, as she tells us “they’re missing out on a chance to understand and learn from one of the best.”
The hate hasn’t brought her down, though! In the beginning of her adult content journey, she started just a small side hustle in the industry during the wake of COVID-19, and it now brings in over $250,000… a month! With no management or official affiliations, she single-handedly brought herself her first million at only 23 years old; Kazumi has definitely seen the rewards of her perseverance. Now at 25, she is worth almost 4 million dollars. Along with this impressive accomplishment, she landed herself a spot on the cover of the revered Playboy magazine, a spread in Maxim, and a nomination for Rising Social Media Star at XBIZ Miami. On top of all that, she has won a cooking show, been featured in numerous podcasts, has billboards of herself all across LA, and has been featured on airplane banners! Looking towards the future, Kazumi hopes to become a household name and crucial figurehead in revolutionizing sex and sex work; she wants “to become a trailblazer for letting other up-and-coming sex workers exist in the same space as other successful people, without others [treating their work] like 7th graders [would].” Financially, she hopes to one day reach a million dollars in revenue monthly, and later pursue real estate. In her later days, Kazumi wishes to travel the world to gain a broader perspective on people and society as a whole.
