FLAUNT PREMIERE | Leroy from the North Releases 'White Knights'

LA-based trio Leroy from the North has just released their second country rock single of the year, ‘White Knights’. Having already tackled any country performer’s coveted Stagecoach festival, the band is surely making their sound known. Their rock and 70s disco influence is evident in their discography, thus making the trio a genre-bending force of nature. ‘White Knights’ in particular is a country-heavy windows down groove that Leroy from the North members—singer/guitarist Eli Wulfmeier, bass player Adam Arcos and drummer Jason Ganberg—have masterfully pieced as a humorous, yet beautiful ode to Los Angeles living.

Wulfmeier describes ‘White Knights’ as exemplary of the band’s “own tone.” He reminisces, “ I remember walking around my neighborhood in Echo Park and just sort of taking everything in. It had this really beautiful landscape, perfect weather, and then I stepped on a used needle and condom on the same patch of grass. Seemed like an interesting thing to write about. I enjoy that sort of duality, and I tend to lean towards it for some reason. It’s probably why I liked reading Bukowski so much when I first moved to L.A. There is something compelling about the other side of the coin or underbelly of what would appear to be perfect on the surface.”

Leroy from the North has much more in store for 2022 alone, and is planning to release their full-length debut album this winter. Additionally, the group is also putting a tour together with shows already set in Los Angeles (September 9th at the Troubadour) and in Nashville (September 16th at the Acme).
