The most valuable trophy in all of sports has been awarded to the winner of the FIFA World Cup, every four years, since its beginning in July of 1930. No other sporting event compares to the intensity and popularity of this tournament and there is a reason that the tournament is named after the trophy itself. More importantly, however, a trophy of this value and superiority requires a case to match. 

For the third consecutive World Cup, FIFA has continued its partnership with Louis Vuitton to design and create a travel case, worthy of the trophy. This years case was put on display for the first time today as the tournament began in this year's host country, Russia, and will be shown again at the end of the tournament. Handcrafted in Asnières, France, the case was completed with a reflecting chrome finish layered by a laser-engraving of the classic Louis Vuitton pattern. The interior of the elegant case is delicately leather padded.

Along with carrying the responsibility of curating the safest and most fashionable case possible for the World Cup, Louis Vuitton has released an extremely limited Match Ball Trunk. The trunk reveals 13 re-editioned official match balls used in World Cup tournaments since 1970, which Adidas fabricated especially for this event and one ball designed by Louis Vuitton. There are only 21 of these trunks available for purchase worldwide. Along with the Match Ball Trunk, Louis Vuitton has brought an Official Licensed Product Collection to the table. The collection is colorful and fun, featuring exclusive Keepall and Apollo bags, along with a selection of smaller leather pieces, made with the brands classic Epi leather. These fun bags display a specially designed Louis Vuitton FIFA World Cup logo placed like a team badge. These logos were first used on the personal trunks of Gaston-Louis Vuitton. 

The Louis Vuitton 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia Collection will be available in select Louis Vuitton stores as well as a special pop-up opening in the Miami Design District.
