Asa Taccone and Matthew Compton are [Electric Guest](https://www.instagram.com/electricguest/)\- the acclaimed pop, and feel-good genre duo. The group teamed up with Atlantic Records in launching their new album campaign, slated to release in October of this year. The first single on the forthcoming album, “Dollar,” recently dropped, accompanied by a ‘family affair’ music video directed by The Lonely Island’s Jorma Taccone.
“Making Dollar was a family affair,” says Asa. “Everyone in it is either a childhood friend or family member. My brother & I drove home from L.A. to the Bay Area & shot the video over five days. From my little cousin doing doughnuts in an Oakland recycling plant to our friend Matt letting us drive his hovercraft in the San Francisco Bay, everything was a favor. In this Money Is Everything culture the songs serves to have a different message: you are of value even if you only have a dollar in your pocket.”
Today, Asa and Matthew share a behind the scenes look in the making of “Dollar.”
This is Skeeter & Ausee. My friend David met them on a BART train where they were dancing and brought them to the set.
This is my young David Hasselhoff moment. This was after the hundredth take and my brother kept yelling at me to dance “lower” which I guess I wasn’t doing correctly. We never used any of the shirtless takes which I think was the correct choice.
My cousin showed up in his tricked out Volvo and convinced us that he could successfully do doughnuts in the empty recycling plant we were shooting at. He was very high and i was positive he was going to hit one of the support beams because the space was way smaller than the photo captures but after watching him do it once, i jumped in and this picture was snapped.

When we were filming the hovercraft scenes on the water it was 5:30am and freezing. You could barely hear anything because the hovercraft had a massive propeller on the back of it & we were soaking wet within five minutes. The guy who built it and was driving was a friend of a friend so we didn’t know one another well. While scrambling to play the song off his phone an audio book he was listening to started to play instead of the song we were shooting the video to. It was this Tibetan Monk giving a talk on Buddhism. I turned to him and I was like, “Oh shit, I listen to this every night before bed”. Which was true. Hours later he told me that that was the moment he was able to relax because he knew we were on the same page.

Dolorean after we had just finished filming:
This was right after we had filmed the last shots of the Delorean. Matt (the guy in the reflective hat) built the hovercraft over the course of 5 years.
This is me, pretending to drink champagne with Matthew. This was at my friend’s nightclub in S.F. We asked fans to come party with us. Twas fun.
