The brand out of Denver, CO is creating clean health and beauty products, using USDA Certified Organic ingredients and providing top of the line hemp (full-spectrum CBD) through their products.
Founded by Kanani Stephens and Joshua Haupt, the two bring perspectives from the medical and cannabis fields to create their line of products. Their line of products includes extracts made with 100% Certified Organic hemp, MCT, and terpenes; Micro Caps made to boost your immunity or get you a wonderful rest; skincare to nurture your skin and promote healthy tissue and reduce inflammation; and topicals to help with body relief. In addition, Plant Love Naturals commits to giving back, donating portions of profits to organizations like the ACLU, WeForest, and Wounded Warriors Project, among many other philanthropic initiatives.

**What was missing in the health and beauty world that you hoped to provide with Plant Love?**
We founded [Plant Love Naturals](https://plantlovenaturals.com/) with the aim of bringing customers the absolute best CBD products that the environment has to offer. Only about 1% of CBD companies are USDA Certified Organic, which means most CBD brands out there are not clean. We want to change that through our practices, our products, and our mission to give back.
Not only are we USDA Certified Organic, using all-natural and organic ingredients—we also set ourselves apart with our unique terpene blends. We believe we’re at a tipping point with natural skincare as people want products that are top quality and also sustainable and ethically motivated. We’re very transparent about all the ingredients and processes we use as we aim to educate and promote change by offering products that are the very best for you and the environment.
**Talk about the brand's ethos of giving back and why you chose the particular organizations to donate to.**
Since our company’s inception, we’ve had the goal of entering the B Corp space. We think it’s important to recognize that while we live in a free market that views the bottom line and shareholder gains as the ultimate predictors of success, it doesn’t have to be the only way to run a business. We believe there are far more important keys to success than our year-end profits.
Lots of people are moving quickly into the industry because they view the hemp plant as a commodity. We believe in therapeutic value rather than monetary value – and want to consider the environmental, social and economic impacts that businesses have in local communities.
From grassroots efforts that include community action days to fundraising on behalf of global non-profits and relief NGOs, we’ve created a [Plant Love Promise](https://ilove.plantlovenaturals.com/en-us/plant-love-promise) which aims to use our brand as a conduit for positive change.
Our goal is to do the right thing rather than the next best thing.
**For someone not so familiar, why are terpenes beneficial to have in your products?**
Terpenes are naturally occurring compounds in plants that are responsible for their unique scents, tastes, and therapeutic benefits. For instance, they give plants like lavender, pine, and lemons their strong and soothing aromas while providing protection against bacteria, fungus, insects, and other environmental stressors.
In the hemp plant, terpenes work synergistically with CBD (and other cannabinoids), boosting and modulating the effects of one another in the body's endocannabinoid system (ECS). We like to think of them as the steering wheel to a CBD vehicle: driving their therapeutic effects towards benefits like focus, skin repair and restoration, or helping one’s mood.
What makes our products so special is that terpenes are typically burned off quickly under normal distillation and extraction processes. Not only do we go way further in our subcritical extraction method to preserve them, but we also add them back in after distillation. To date, we’re the only company doing this and it’s all done organically.
**What was it like bringing Plant Love to life considering your backgrounds in the cannabis industry and in the medical field?**
With our team’s diverse backgrounds, we saw the need to grow awareness, gain trust, and overcome possible misconceptions about the industry.
In regards to the cannabis industry, we’ve seen so many claims that are completely false—and after growing the plant for years, we’ve learned the right ways to grow a clean product with higher yields and CBD value. This has given us a whole new understanding of what the plant is capable of doing versus plants that are not grown in clean conditions… and starting at the farm is such a big deal. We’re trying to bring the purest, most highly concentrated CBD to the market. Essentially, we really are farm-to-table.
In regards to the medical field, we realized the frustrations that patients would experience with their options in Western Medicine. We wanted to provide alternative means of wellness with a unique product that is truly beneficial for balancing a variety of areas. Hemp is a bioaccumulator; it absorbs whatever you put into it. If it’s pulling toxins and heavy metals from the soil it is planted in, then it can lead to poor quality and toxin levels in the plant itself. This is why it’s so important to grow hemp properly and craft the best products for our customers to reach optimal health. The balance of health and wellness is a delicate one, and everything we put into our bodies impacts our ability to feel good.
**What is in store for the future of Plant Love?**
The hemp industry is an incredibly exciting industry. We love this plant to its deepest core, and wholeheartedly believe in the myriad ways it can be beneficial to balancing our wellness and health.
Along with our mission to be the premiere provider of the finest hemp products in the world, we want to educate and advance the industry as a whole; advocating for awareness and defeating stigmas especially surrounding hemp and CBD.
