London-based Belgian Congolese singer, songwriter and producer Lyne Nsongo has just signed a new music partnership with UK street fashion brand Crep Select, and is excited to release her brand new single and its accompanying music video. Premiering today exclusively on Flaunt, “Royal” is produced by Ocean and engineered by Hot Money (Stefflon Don, Krept & Konan, Stormzy).
“Royal” is the first glimpse of Lyne Nsongo's forthcoming sophomore EP. With this song, Lyne is speaking to women to make them realize their worth and their royalty. Over a bouncy beat, she croons, “You were made of gold, handmade by the only One,” showcasing her R&B vocals over a bouncy electronic melody.
Lyne opened up on her inspiration behind her brand new single and her desire to make empowering and inspirational music. She states, “The song comes from discussions I had with some of my female friends who were at very low points in their lives, I just want to lift them up and make them see their worth.”
She adds, “I’ve realized that it’s my calling to deliver this empowering message through my music. If I can become an inspiration for girls out there to follow a good path in life, I believe I will have achieved my purpose in life. I have a gift and I want to use it to impact my world.”
Lyne Nsongo was born in Belgium and grew up surrounded by music. She practiced her skills in music academies and dance classes when she was a child, but soon after developed her sound with collaborations with her brother and producer D.E.W.I.
Today, living in London, she has become a rising star to watch in the UK’s resurgent R&B music scene and beyond, with her genre-blending slant as well as her hopeful inspirational message.
