Effortlessly playing with elements of grunge and shoegaze intertwined with bass-heavy hip-hop, their EP comes together cohesively, yet undeniably unique. "[HARDCORE HAPPY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_D49xwTbkvM)" and "[SHAPESHIFTER](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brVkddBW9RU)" are the previously-released singles that have received a praised response. "I'm still running for my life with one eye staring down at the concrete and one eye looking up to the sky…Sometimes painfully honest tales of my story. I just want it to feel like yours too,” says THE BLOSSOM. Alongside the EP comes a video for a new song off the project, ["BLACK EYE"](https://youtu.be/00G4mtmropE). Like its precedents, “BLACK EYE” covers the full emotional spectrum with its lyrics, and only reassures Lizotte of their incredible songwriting capabilities. Insecurity, gender dysphoria, depression, anxiety, and growing pains are some of the themes touched on in their songs. But rather than the feelings themselves, they mostly talk about how they _feel_ about their feelings - a perspective that’s almost an abstraction of the raw emotion itself. An incisive debut that merges all the distinct worlds that inspired Lizotte to start this journey originally.
