Flaunt has never been afraid of entertaining. Never been afraid of dancing, be it by ourselves, in our dreams, intertwined in a painstakingly precise and mesmerizing tango, or amongst thousands on a thumping club floor in some far flung corner of the world. It’s in our DNA! We’ve also never been afraid of self-expression, cultivating an audience, or blazing a trail despite hurdles, girdles, or choppy water ahead. It’s why we always gravitate to unequivocal voices in culture. It’s why we love TikTok! These folks know how to groove! They know bravery! And perhaps most important during this monumental moment of cultural overhaul, they know how to lift up, build, and inspire community. And so we’re pleased to present, for the first time, the LGBTQI+ TikTok Trailblazer list, an assortment of 25 unique beams of light, all redefining what it means to self-embrace and live life to the fullest. The list includes digital pioneers, musicians, thought leaders, health experts, athletes, and movers and shakers. This, dear readers, is the future of content. As part of TikTok’s wider Pride 2020 initiative, Trailblazers have been matched with LGBTQ+ focused NGOs and will work to raise them money via donation stickers and livestreams during Pride. This will be accented toward the end of the month by #MyPride, a Virtual Pride Event that includes panel conversations and social takeovers, featured on Flaunt and TikTok’s Instagam. Flaunt had the delightful opportunity to dig into the minds of these Trailblazers, and we’ll be rolling out the resulting interviews and social content through the week.
