Chicago raised rapper [Vic Mensa](https://www.instagram.com/vicmensa) follows up last summer’s acclaimed _V Tape_ with a new seven song project titled [_I TAPE_](https://vicmensa.lnk.to/iTape). Focusing on his work as an individual and through his nonprofit, SAVEMONEYSAVELIFE, this new EP grounds itself in understanding American dysfunction. With poignant themes of poverty and criminal justice, Mensa collaborates with music heavyweights like Chance The Rapper and Wyclef Jean on the track “Shelter.”
In addition to releasing _I TAPE_, Mensa has stayed busy, spearheading initiatives like ‘Sleep Out Chicago’ within his hometown, aimed towards raising money for the city’s homeless youth. He has also led a Chicago Peace Walk alongside G Herbo and has maintained a steady focus on unjust incarceration.
