The debut solo exhibition by South African female artist Zandile Tshabala at [ADA \\ contemporary art gallery](https://www.ada-accra.com/) in Accra, Ghana marks the gallery’s third consecutive solo show since opening in October 2020. It is the first of a rising female artist on the continent.
The exhibition _Enter Paradise_ will be open for viewing from February 25 to April 18, 2021. It showcases a series of figurative self-portraits, reintroducing the representation of the Black female figure throughout art history. The acrylic paintings combat previously contrived narratives, instead depicting sensual Black women at one with their bodies and erotic nature. The paintings are set in lush, vibrant “paradises,” to powerfully draw in the viewer.
