Call it an uncharted exploration and aespa is already at the helm of it. K-pop group, aespa, has long intrigued audiences with innovative visuals that accompany their equally groundbreaking sound. If you have listened to “Girls'' or “Next Level,” you are well aware that aespa’s vision is light years ahead of us. aespa is returning to the stage with a VR experience, a production composed by SM Entertainment and AmazeVR, that will exclusively premiere at this year’s SXSW. Unlike other aespa performances, this onscreen comeback will feature an enveloping 3D technology meant to bring the group’s music to fans across the globe.

Many K-pop groups follow a formulaic cadence, whereas Aespa disrupts. They welcome change with open arms. By leaping into this transcendence, they elicit wonder with their performances. With all the commotion in our daily lives, now is the time to grab a one-way ticket to the destination aespa is serving up. Aespa’s songs are an imaginative playground, fusing futuristic superhero visuals with cutting-edge audio. They embrace technology and use it as a tool to amplify their presence.

This time around they will be performing in “‘KWANGYA,” a destination only detectable on aespa’s map. In “KWANGYA”, aespa bring us along as eyewitnesses to a universe they have collectively sculpted. In anticipation for this performance, Aespa members (Karina, Winter, Giselle, and Ningning,) enthusiastically shared, “We’re so excited to exclusively premiere a glimpse of our first VR Concert at Kwangya at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. We prepared a special VR Concert that can’t be found anywhere else in the world and it is a unique way to meet face to-face with our MYs.” It is, in a certain way, a projection of what is yet to come for aespa.
