Artist Fana Hues is back with her latest single, “Pieces” following her critically acclaimed 2020 EP, _Hues._
The single, which was produced by Tim Maxey, touches on the highs and lows of a complicated and damaged relationship. Sonically, the music takes you through these complex emotions, pairing sweet loving melodies with lyrics in which Fana questions her sense of self and whether this relationship is healthy.
"‘Pieces' is about a fragmented relationship,” says Fana. “Seeing the light and dark in someone and being at a crossroads of do I stay or do I go. A search for clarity, a sign in the sand."

The single comes with a video directed by Phillip Youmans which will be release concurrently with the song. The video further evokes the dream-like and emotional energy of “Pieces,” featuring Fana and others performing in a talent show on stage, the spotlight glaring down on them as they perform various tricks, including bubble blowing and handling a powerful Python. Paired with the lyrics, the video symbolizes the feeling of needing to perform, to constantly seek to do more to convince your lover and yourself that this relationship is right. In a way, the relationship itself becomes a performance of its own.
Released today, November 9th, “Pieces” is available now.
