Brigitte D’Annibale, the California-based interdisciplinary artist, debuts her most complex project to date: B=f(P,E). B=f(P,E) is an installation that acquires its name from the equation constructed by social psychologist Kurt Lewin; it’s a site-based, multi-layered work that attempts to understand the complex nature of human behavior, weighing the influence between personal and environmental characteristics on one's psyche.

D’Annibale creates an immersive space intended for contemplation and introspection, exploring relationships between interior space, objects, land, structures, art, and the human condition. The artist provides different symbolic circumstances for the audience to investigate, urging viewers to consider the definition of humanity within the culture of a post-pandemic world. The mere participation of audience members allows them to become collaborators of B=f(P,E), incorporating them into this ever-expansive, constantly evolving work from D’Annibale.

The installation sits on an acre-sized vacant construction site in Malbu’s Point Dume, available to experience by appointment from through June 2023.
