The Wu-Tang may be taking a venerated final lap around the globe over the next twelve months, but the band's Abbot, RZA, seems to show no signs of slowing down. Having released a classical album last year along with a ballet, A Ballet Through Mud, it was announced this week that the fourth movie he has directed, One Spoon Of Chocolate, will have its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 8. A fitting homecoming for a son of Staten Island.

The drama sees RZA reunite with lead Shameik Moore, who played Raekwon in the Hulu series RZA developed, Wu-Tang: An American Saga, as well as Flaunt's Issue 182 coverstar Paris Jackson. The film follows an ex-military convict leaving for a small town, where he ends up finding love and more trouble than he can handle.

RZA has a deep love of film, and the kung-fu movies of his youth were critical reference points for Wu-Tang's musical output. As a director, his credits include The Man with the Iron Fists (2012), Love Beats Rhymes (2017), and Cut Throat City (2020). He scored both of the Kill Bill movies for Quentin Tarantino, and his acting credits include last year's indie hit Problemista, Minions, American Gangster, Californication, and The Simpsons.
