Classic French elegance meets the idealized abstraction of the ‘80s New York City art scene in this latest collection from luxury leather bag brand Joseph Duclos. For the new line of accessories and perfumes, creative director Ramesh Nair called upon the artwork of Neo-Conceptualist American artist, Peter Halley, for inspiration.
With these bags and fragrances, Nair taps into the essence of Halley’s work by playing with confined geometric lines reminiscent of traditional French craftsmanship, while incorporating unexpected futuristic shapes–similar to how the artist tells stories of both the past and the present through his paintings. The result is something sleek and sturdy. Historical and contemporary. Architectural and practical.
In celebration of the collection, the Joseph Duclos boutique in Paris will be showcasing pieces of Halley’s art alongside the accessories, allowing them to tell a story in conversation with one another.
