Following the release of his west coast masterpiece EP 'Not Hard 2 Understand', Roc Nation signed artist Kalan.FrFr captured an exclusive behind the scenes photo diary for FLAUNT, giving us a rare look into his life on the road on tour.
An artist who's star has been rising rapidly it's easy to pinpoint exactly why his music connects so deeply with the massive fanbase hes growing. He’s writing about in-depth, real-life situations: the pain caused by intimate deceptions, the strength required to leave a toxic relationship, the Zen realization that heartbreak is often no one’s fault. Plus, and hes able to do it with that generational voice he's always been blessed with.
If you want to get a sense of how deeply respected Kalan is among his peers, just look at the shortlist of his collaborators, a list of the who’s who of modern West Coast hip-hop and R&B: Ohgeesy, Blxst, G Perico, Mozzy, Dom Kennedy, BlueBucks Clan, 1TakeJay, and Westside Boogie.
Not Hard 2 Understand, from begining to end has the charismatic storyteller combine a clever mix of punchlines, flexes and old-school macking tales that keeps West Coast music alive.
About the EP Kalan says, “Working on the project Not Hard 2 Understand was amazing. Every song on there is slapping from start to finish. All the visuals are dope features and fire. It’s going to have the music world lit. It’s time for it.”
