A cup of tea is a universal hallmark of connection in everyday life, a sacred foundation to one’s morning ritual, or a warm embrace during a late-night rendezvous. The teapot’s traditional ceramic structure embodies a sense of timelessness, maintaining its role as a trustworthy vessel for meaningful interaction. For countless years, the teapot has remained at the heart of everyday engagements – yet, it fades into a mundane background accessory, to be washed and stored away until it is deemed useful again.

For Milan Design Week 2025, LOEWE honors the historical symbolism of the teapot by weaving together the innovative works of 25 artists across the globe. The Spanish fashion brand presents a collection of teapots that capture tea making’s nuanced and varied traditions, reimagining the vessel’s form in fanciful, and often unexpected, ways. Many of the artists elevate the classic handle and spout, and polish their creations with glazes and patterns that defy one’s idea of luxury homeware.

Even a brief exploration into the collection exposes one to the diverse cultural influences that inform tea making around the world. Rose Wylie’s teapot draws inspiration from British Royal Albert china tea sets with fluted detailing, while Lu Bin and Madoda Fani’s teapots feature porous, red surfaces that draw eyes to the claywork. Artists also push the bounds of conventional form  — Shozo Michikawa’s teapot stretches horizontally, and Deng Xiping’s extends vertically.

In spirit of the collection, LOEWE’s signature tea blend, Fiori e Sapori, also marries cultural influences — featuring black tea leaves from India, French lemon verbena, Moroccan roses, Croatian camomile and Italian bergamot oil. The blend is available to purchase exclusively from Postcard Teas on their website and their London store.

This Milan Fashion week collection underscores LOEWE’s continued engagement with artists far and wide, breathing new life into a household staple. These teapots will be available exclusively at Palazzo Citterio, Milan.
