Honey Dijon is known for many things. She’s a talented DJ who delivers electrifying performances to frenzied crowds, a Grammy Award winner and a fashion icon to boot. Today she releases her capsule collection in collaboration with MCM, which reimagines the German brand’s classic travel bags.
MCM, or Modern Creative Munich, was created in 1976 with the intention of being an alternative to travel luxury brands of the time. They produced everyday bags and travel accessories catered to the needs and desires of those caught up in Munich’s unapologetically electric and luxury-loving lifestyle, garnering them a lasting reputation for innovation and style.
MCM’s products have always been chicly rebellious, a trend that Dijon’ doesn't hesitate to continue in her new line. Retro styles graced with bright splashes of color adorn the four bags and two t-shirts that comprise the collection. The bags, which range in size from the Mini Classic Crossbody to the Large Ottomar Weekender Bag, are created from the iconic tan and brown MCM Visetos pattern and overlaid with the brand’s name in yellow, pink, and blue perched boldly atop the green laurel logo element.
The capsule’s style was born from Dijon’s deep dive into the fashion house’s archives, in which she was inspired to add her own flair to the brand’s classic patterns and enduring styles. The result is a playfully bold—yet ageless—collection that reshapes and revitalizes MCM’s iconic bags and mirrors the DJ’s own musical and fashion styles.
For Dijon, it's the perfect remix. Dijon shares, “I wanted to create a dissertation on travel and style. The merging of utility, beauty and craftsmanship. Creating a collection infused with legacy pieces, I wanted to resurrect the chic era of travel, seamlessly blending timeless elegance with modern sophistication.”
The line will be available MCM’s online store and in select retail locations, have the potential to add bonus style points to everything from weekend trips to dog walks.
