Today, Australian-born, Berlin-based band Parcels debuts their new single and music video “Reflex,” as the first-released song of their forthcoming album Live Vol. 2, a collection of 12 tracks that include five new songs which were recorded live at a secret Paris gig in 2022. Live from Le Palace, Paris and offered in 180gsm vinyl, the album will be released on October 20 with Because Music, and is a continuation of their beloved 2020 project Live Vol. 1.

In a dance music homage motivated by days of Berlin-clubbing, the album’s recording commenced after a months-long world tour in which the band begin to slip longer, more repetitive rearrangements into their live performances to support dancing audiences. By the end of their tour, their shows resembled something of a mix between a rave and a classic Parcels concert, which is translated onto Live Vol. 2, a two-hour long recording of the amalgamation of the sonic playfulness they practiced on their tour accompanied by a film piece, offering listeners a completely reinvented experience of their 2021 album Day/Night.

On the album, keyboardist and guitarist Pat Hetherington says, “I think a lot of things lead up to us making this record. Maybe we finally allowed ourselves to musically reflect our years in Berlin, moments in dark nightclubs flying high. We wanted to transport people into the club with us. Into the tense, faceless, euphoric world that can present itself in the right environment with the right repetition of the right chords and rhythms. Transcendence. When people stop thinking and just feel, just move. That deep escape.”
