The Lumineers, the triple-platinum alternative-folk band, have released a rendition of the classic holiday carol, “Deck The Halls.” Recorded this fall while touring in Argentina, the modernized version carries a hauntingly beautiful echo compared to the original–a memorable melody to add to your holiday soundtrack. Contributing to the spirit that is present this time of year is not lost upon the Denver-based band, as they have set up their proceeds from streaming and downloading to go directly to Backline. Backline proudly connects music industry professionals as well as their families with a reliable network of mental health and wellness resources and providers. “Deck The Halls” follows the bands fourth studio album, BRIGHTSIDE, which was released in January 2022, reaching the top ten in both the U.S. and Canada; as well as a sold-out tour selling 1.1 million tickets across 120 cities, 29 countries and 6 continents.
Wesley Schultz, lead vocalist, guitarist, and founding member, shares his thoughts about the new song, “We are happy to release ‘Deck The Halls’ for the holidays. Maybe it’s the idea of soft winter snow gently falling quieting the streets and neighborhoods, or the short days where the sun barely rises above the horizon, we always seem to arrange and record the most barebones versions of holiday songs. Someday we’re going to release the saddest Christmas album ever! In seriousness, we are grateful to partner with Backline. They are doing very important work.”
