 Van Cleef & Arpels Celebrates International Debut of GEMS Part II by Benjamin Millepied            [](https://flaunt-mag.squarespace.com/config/pages/587fe9d4d2b857e5d49ca782#)[](https://flaunt-mag.squarespace.com/config/pages/587fe9d4d2b857e5d49ca782#) THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR Van Cleef & Arpels in downtown Miami for an exclusive performance of Gems Part II: Hearts & Arrows, created in collaboration with Benjamin Millepied Amongst the most precise of all diamond cuts is the ‘hearts and arrows,’ in which a circular brilliant cut stone is crafted with eight symmetrical arrows visible from the top, and eight hearts from the bottom. It is a form that is cherished for its beauty, its precision, and for its delicate romantic artistry. [Van Cleef & Arpels](http://www.vancleefarpels.com/us/en/?from_unlocalized=1) , renowned French jewelers, partnered with  celebrated dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied and his company  [The L.A. Dance Project](http://archive.flaunt.com/s/place/l-dance-project/img) , to capture the essence of these stones in the performance of  _Gems Part II: Hearts & Arrows_ held in Miami on December 1 st  during a benefit for The Wolfsonian-FIU. The celebration integrated a treasure trove of artistic talent, with artist Liam Gillick designing the set, and the legendary Philip Glass composing the score. The performance—held at the Olympia Theater in the Gusman Center—was followed by a lavish dinner prepared by the world-famous chef Daniel Boulud, at the art-deco Alfred I. DuPont Building. Guests were invited into a lavish Van Cleef & Arpels fantasy world that featured a corridor of magic mirrors, jewel draped models, and a secret vault embedded with gem stones, we recall Charles Baudelaire, "The Jewels," and we curl up with that poem, thinking of those born in the crust, the mantle, the dance studio.
