Los Angeles songwriter Martin Roark, known as Tomemitsu, has garnered a reputation for his introspective and dreamy lo-fi tunes that span his ten-year career. His sound has earned placement in HBO's hit series _High Maintenance_. His third full-length collaborative album [_Sun_](https://fofmusic.lnk.to/Sun) is out today.
"This was my first attempt to collaborate over the Internet," says Roark about collaborating with songwriters based all over the country. "What's special about this album is that I got to collaborate with many great female vocalists: Christina Gaillard of HIPS, Lillie West of Lala Lala, Vivian McConnell of V.V. Lightbody, Eva B. Ross, Dre Babinski of Steady Holiday, and more."
The album includes ["Wish Erase"](https://tomemitsu.bandcamp.com/album/sun) ft. Lala & Chicago artist V.V. Lightbody and ["Waiting for Your Love"](https://tomemitsu.bandcamp.com/album/sun) ft. Steady Holiday. Second single, ["Same Mistakes"](https://soundcloud.com/fofmusic/08-same-mistakes-ft-vv-lightbody/s-FtnlQOfrQG0?in=fofmusic/sets/tomemitsu-sun//s-s70JgFFgW7O) also featured V.V. Lightbody, who provides blissful background vocals.
Roark says, “Sometimes creating can be useful to process things that are, or aren't, going on in life. Writing and recording music is a way for me to express myself without the anxiety of performance. I can find peace once I've finally mastered and tracked that difficult part. I hope that Sun brings warmth and moments of peace during this tense time to anyone that needs it."
Tomemitsu's new album _Sun_ is out now via the label Friends of Friends.
