Alexander McQueen admires the beauty of anatomy in the newly-launched campaign of its upcoming Autumn/Winter 2023 collection. The collection, inspired by the appreciation for the anatomy of both humans and flowers, includes 55 new looks varying in volumes from neat and strict silhouettes, to explosive ones. The AW23 campaign, photographed by David Sims, features influential fashion figures such as Naomi Campbell, Elle Fanning, Liu Wen, Eva Green, and Yseult.

Guided by the body within the clothing and derived from floral anatomy, the most prominent theme in the collection is inspired by the orchid. Representing the symbol of love in the language of flowers, the orchid grows in the wild, thriving in air but resistant to being rooted. As the beauty of the orchid exists in an adaptable light, it mimics both predator and prey.

Accessories such as orchid and skeletal orchid rings, and dissected flower ear sets in silver and gold, accompany the collection with a floral touch.

With a focus on the cut, proportion and silhouette of each design, the collection highlights deconstructed garments that are dissected in slashed, sliced and twisted directions, while favoring a subverted and upside down silhouette. As the shoulders portray a strong broadness, waists are narrow and legs are elegantly elongated with the accompaniment of heeled trousers through the alluring sight of deconstructed silhouettes following the vision of anatomy.
